Kashmiri Festivals 2026

Major celebrations and events include Herath, Navreh, Kheer Bhawani, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Adha, the Tulip Festival, Badamwari Spring Blossom Festival, Amarnath Yatra, Shikara Festival, and the Saffron Festival. Their dates and duration depend on the religious calendar or seasonal schedule.

Herath is the traditional Kashmiri Pandit celebration associated with Maha Shivaratri and Lord Shiva. Families observe distinctive household rituals, prepare traditional foods, and mark the occasion according to Kashmiri customs. It is one of the community's most significant annual festivals.

The 2026 Kashmiri calendar lists Navreh, the Kashmiri Pandit New Year, on Thursday, 19 March 2026. The traditional celebration includes a prepared thaal, or ceremonial plate, and customs welcoming the new year.

The expected season is late March to mid-April, around the spring bloom at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar. Actual bloom dates and the official opening period can vary with the weather, so the seasonal window should not be treated as a confirmed event schedule.
